Emirates SkyCargo opens new office in Dhaka

Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, has opened a new office at the Export Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka. The modern state-of-the-art facility will enable SkyCargo to provide more personalised services to Bangladeshi exporters and importers.Ravishankar Mirle, Emirates SkyCargo’s Vice President Commercial, Asia and Australia, formally inaugurated the new office yesterday. Khalid Ali J Hassan, Emirates Area Manager for Bangladesh, Nihal W. Hettiarachchi, Emirates SkyCargo Manager for Freighter Operations and Charters, Sheikh Idrish Ali, Emirates Cargo Manager for Bangladesh and local cargo agents, amongst others, were present at the opening.
“We view Bangladesh as a very important market with its fast growing economy. In recent years we have been observing a diversification in export products and destinations from Bangladesh,” said Ravishankar Mirle. “Emirates SkyCargo was the first air cargo carrier to introduce a scheduled freighter service to Chittagong nearly two years ago and it has been operating successfully”, he added. Emirates currently has a fleet of 213 aircraft, 12 of which are freighters. The airlines serves 141 destinations in 80 countries across six continents.
