Emphasis on increasing low cost deposit

Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank (DBBL) Sayem Ahmed has underscored the need for improving further the personalised customer service at the branches, developing close relationship with the customers and lay emphasis on increasing low cost deposit.
He urged upon the managers to make continuous improvement in services both at branch and ATM level and gradually increasing the volume of business on taking advantages of the state-of-the-art banking solution of DBBL.
He made the call at the managers' conference of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited held at a city hotel recently. Mr Sayem Ahmed presided.
Abedur Rashid Khan, Chairman of the Board of Directors attended the meeting as the chief guest. Md Yeasin Ali, Managing Director of the bank along with other senior executives of the head office were also present at the conference.
The meeting reviewed the overall business performance of the branches compared to given business and profit target for the last 5 months of this year. All the 80 branch managers attended the conference and suggested certain action plan for improvement towards achieving the annual targets as set by the head office of the bank.
They also assured they will try hard in a concerted way for improving the customer service at the branches and increasing the opening of retail/ corporate salary accounts so as to bring a comfortable deposit mix of the branches, a goal set for the year 2010.
Rashid Khan advised the branch managers to put in their all out efforts for achieving the overall targets of the bank set for the year 2010.
He stressed on increasing fee based and commission income and diversification of banking products and called upon the branch managers to continue their earnest efforts to further accelerate the growth by enforcing adequate business drive to strengthen the bank's position in the banking sector.
