Empowering women: Driving equality for a sustainable future

Women’s empowerment is crucial for societal progress, economic growth, and social justice. When they are empowered, they gain the confidence, skills, and opportunities to contribute to decision-making, leadership, and innovation. With this in mind, THE FINANCIAL EXPRESS organised a roundtable discussion titled “Empowering Women: Driving Equality for a Sustainable Future” at The Westin Dhaka on February 25 to mark International Women’s Day. Halida Hanum Akhtar, Member of Women’s Affairs Reforms Commission, joined the event as the chief guest and Kakoli Jahan Ahmed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, as the special guest. Shamsul Huq Zahid, Editor and CEO of The Financial Express, presided over the discussion where Hosne Ara Loma, Human Resources Director of Nestlé Bangladesh PLC, presented the keynote paper. Shiabur Rahman, Head of Online and Digital Content of The Financial Express, moderated the session.
