Enactment of new law for domestic workers underway: Chunnu

State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haq Chunnu said Friday that enactment of a new law favouring domestic workers across the country is now underway, reports BSS.
The draft of the act will be placed at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) soon, said the state minister.
The state minister was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day triennial conference as the chief guest at the auditorium of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
Organised by Bangladesh Trade Union Centre, the conference was attended by at least 900 labour representatives.
Mujibul Haq said the government has taken initiatives to ensure the rights of the workers. "The government has activated labour law and ensured trade union rights of the workers to strengthen the financial ability of the workers across the country," he said.
