Enamul Haque elected BAJUS president

Enamul Haque Khan, proprietor of Diamond & Divas, has been elected unopposed as the president of the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS), the apex trade body of jewellers, for the 2nd consecutive time for the 2025-2027 term.
The election results were announced on Monday during a press briefing at BAJUS's central office in the capital's Eskaton. BAJUS Adviser Ruhul Amin Russell conducted the event.
"I will work with full sincerity to continue the development trend," said Enamul Haque Khan while expressing his gratitude to all jewellers across the country for electing him unopposed.
"The jewellery industry is part of our heritage and has become a vital contributor to the national economy. Around 40,000 jewellery enterprises and 1 to 1.2 million artisans are currently engaged in this sector," said newly-elected Vice President Md Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury.
"Annual gold demand in Bangladesh is estimated at 30 to 40 tonnes according to official data, and 70 to 90 tonnes according to private estimates, most of which comes from recycled gold," he said.
He added that Bangladesh's jewellery market is valued at around Tk 4.0 trillion (4 lakh crore) for gold and Tk 300 billion (Tk30,000 crore) for diamond.
The newly-elected Executive Committee (2025-2027) comprises: President: Enamul Haque Khan (Diamond & Divas); Senior vice president: Ranjit Ghosh (Managing Director, Sananda Jewellers Pvt. Ltd.); Vice presidents: Azad Ahmed (Apon Diamond House); Abhi Roy (Director, Jorowa House Pvt. Ltd.); Md Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury (JCX Gold & Diamond); Treasurer: Amit Ghosh.
The 29 elected directors are: Md. Milon Mia, Paban Kumar Agarwal, Tanvir Rahman, Md. Liton Howlader, Bablu Dutta, Ganesh Debnath, Ashis Kumar Mondal, Mizanur Rahman, Bikash Ghosh, Suman Chandra Dey, Mostafa Kamal, Dhananjay Saha (Bipul), Shribas Roy, Md. Ali Hossain, Md. Rubel, Md.
