End of a living history: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, expressing deep shock at the death of Abdul Matin, has said that his demise is 'an ending of a living history'. Abdul Matin, popularly known as ‘Bhasha Matin’, passed away at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital in the city on Wednesday morning at the age of 87. In a condolence message, the PM said the ladder of independence was founded through the great Language Movement of 1952, and 'Bhasha Matin' was the one of the main warriors of that movement. She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the members of the bereaved family, according to a news agency.
