FE Report
A contribution agreement has recently been signed between Energypac Agro Limited (EAL) and IDLC of Bangladesh Ltd (IDLC) to assist in creating a joint venture with a foreign partner for producing value added coconut coir products for both domestic and international markets.
EAL CEO and Director Humayun Rashid and IDLC CEO and Managing Director Anis A Khan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Among others, Local Enterprise Investment (LEIC) Centre Director Israt Ara Younus was also present in the signing ceremony.
The proposed investment would help generate huge employment for the underprivileged women, and would also earn foreign currency by adding value to local raw materials, such as coconut fibre, which is currently wasted.
