RUSTENBURG, South Africa, June 4 (AP): England captain Rio Ferdinand injured his left knee in training on Friday and went to a hospital for a scan.
The centre back sustained the injury in a tackle during a training session at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Campus.
"It happened near the end," England coach Fabio Capello said.
"He has gone to hospital for a scan and we will have to see how things are."
