WELLINGTON, Mar 12 (AFP): England have dropped under-performing pace bowlers Steve Harmison and Matthew Hoggard in their quest to square the series in the second cricket Test against New Zealand starting here Thursday.
Their places in the team named Wednesday have been taken by James Anderson, who last week played for Auckland in a domestic New Zealand first class match, and Stuart Broad, who made his Test debut in Sri Lanka last year.
New Zealand, who take an unchanged squad into the Test, name their final team Thursday, shortly before play begins.
