England Lions level 1-1 beating Bangladesh A by six-wicket

Touring England Lions, the 2nd string England Cricket team, levelled the five-match one-day series 1-1 beating Bangladesh A team by six wickets in the 2nd one day match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city of Chittagong Tuesday, reports UNB.
It was the sweet revenge for England Lions against the 2nd string Bangladesh team of their six-wicket defeat in the first one-day match in Chittagong last Sunday.
Bangladesh A team, led by new captain Raqibul Hasan, batted first after winning the toss and were all out cheaply for 176 runs in 44 overs, despite Nazimuddin's unbeaten 99 runs.
Batting first, Bangladesh A team faced serious batting collapse initially losing six wickets for 59 runs in 18.5 overs and lost the seven wickets for 90 runs in 27.1 overs.
But, one down national cricketer Nazimuddin stayed in the crease confidently in an awkward situation hammering an unconquered 99 runs off 125 balls hitting eight fours and four sixes.
All rounder Suhrawardi Shuvo (20) and pacer Dollar Mahmud (17) were the only two other host batsmen reaching the double figure.
New ball bowler Stuart Meaker made the major damage in hosts inning grabbing four wickets 47 runs while Scott Borthwick and Danny Briggs took two wickets each conceding 33 and 38 runs respectively.
Chasing a target of 177 runs, the English Lions faced no trouble to score the match-winning 117 runs for the loss of four wickets in just 37.3 overs.
After the departure of four top order batsmen for 107 runs in 23.3 overs, number five batsman Jonathan Baristow pairing with Joseph Buttler guided the team toward the victory scoring 70 runs in the 5th wicket stand.
Jonathan Baristow made an unconquered 50 runs off 65 balls with the help of six boundaries, number seven Joseph Buttler remained not out with 39-ball 41 runs featuring six fours while one down James Vince contributed 59-ball 44 runs including six boundaries.
Suhrawardi Shuvo took two wickets for 38 runs.
The 3rd one-day match will be held on January 13 at the same venue while the 4th and 5th matches will be held January 16 and 18 at Sylhet Divisional Stadium.
