Engr AAMM Zia Hossain dead

CHATTOGRAM, May 13: Eminent engineer and former chairman of the Chittagong Development Authority (CDA), AAM Zia Hossain passed away while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital on Tuesday.
He was 91. He was suffering from old age complications. He left wife, three sons, a daughter and a host of relatives. Born in South Rampur, Satkania, Zia Hossain graduated in Civil Engineering from BUET in 1957. He held important positions like chairman of CDA and member of BEPZA. He was the chief advisor of the Korean EPZ project.
He also served as the Lions Club district governor and the president of the Chittagong Engineers Institute. Besides, he was involved with social services.
GPH Group Chairman and MD Jahangir Alam and AMD Almas Shimul expressed deep shock over his death.
