Enhancing skills of local entrepreneurs urged

RANGPUR, Feb 12 (BSS): Speakers at a training workshop have underscored the need for enhancing skill and expertise of the local youth entrepreneurs to make them self-reliant through spreading small-scale enterprises, trade and business.
They also put emphasis on increasing of information and communication technology (ICT)-based knowledge and skills of the youth entrepreneurs to make them successful businesspersons in accelerating the pace of the national development.
The Upazila Department of Youth Development organised the entrepreneurship development training workshop for the youth entrepreneurs at the Upazila Agriculture Office hall room in Pirganj upazila town in the district on Wednesday.
With Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer ATM Ziaul Islam in the chair, Deputy Director of the district Department of Youth Development Azizur Rahman Talukder attended and addressed the day-long training workshop as the chief guest.
Assistant Director of the Department of Youth Development Mahfuzar Rahman attended the training workshop the special guest and Pirganj Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Abul Kalam Azad Khan delivered the welcome speech.
Upazila Women Affairs Officer Nuresh Kawser Jahan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Samir Chandra Ghosh, Advisor of district Awami League Khalilur Rahman Mandal, Community Supervisor of the IMPACT project (Phase-II) Khalilur Rahman addressed.
Credit Supervisors of the IMPACT project (Phase-II) of the Upazila Department of Youth Development Rawshan Ali Mandal, Sadekur Rahman, Abdus Salek and Golam Mostafa and youth entrepreneur Mahe Alam also spoke.
Pirganj Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Masudar Rahman and Credit Supervisor the IMPACT project (Phase-II) Mosrefa Akhter Simi delivered presentations giving necessary directions to the participants in becoming successful entrepreneurs.
Forty trained male and female youth entrepreneurs from all over Pirganj upazila participated in the day-long training workshop.
The speakers stressed for spreading ICT- and science-based technical and vocational education, skill and knowledge among the youth entrepreneurs also to pave the way for their employments and self-employments in the prospective ICT sector. The chief guest called upon the participants to establish them as successful entrepreneurs by availing the facilities and assistance and properly utilising knowledge and skill they achieved from the training workshop to become self-reliant.
He asked them for building a middle income digital Bangladesh through materialising the Vision 2021 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in building the Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
