Ensure ATM service during Eid holidays: BB

Bangladesh Bank has directed all commercial banks to ensure ATM and POS (Point of Sale) services during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays which begin on Friday. A central bank cisrular, regarding the matter, had been sent to respective Chief Executive of the banks. According to the directives sent from Payment Systems Department of BB, the banks are directed to ensure a constant supply of cash at ATM booths and keep the ATM booths open round the clock (24 hours). The circular signed by Payment Systems Department General Manager KM Abdul Odud said customers must be informed immediately if any booth remains closed in any day of the three-day Eid holidays (July 17, 18 and 19). The central bank also directed the scheduled banks not to harass the clients in banking transactions, according to a news agency.
