Ensure smooth ATM service with security: BB

Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Thursday issued another circular with a four-point directive asking the banks to ensure the smooth operation of ATM (automated teller machine) with adequate security during the holidays on the occasion of Durga Puja and Eid-ul-Azha. The directives to the banks read: “ATM and POS (point of sale) network must be operative for 24 hours. Ensure all-time cash supply at ATM booths. Post notices in front of closed or inoperative ATM booths and make sure full-scale security during the clients’ withdrawal of money from the ATM booths.” The central bank’s payment system department issued the circular addressing the chief executives of all the schedule banks of the country, according to a news agency.
