Ensuring right to information for quality education stressed

RANGPUR, Nov 8 (BSS): Speakers at a views-sharing meeting have stressed for ensuring Right to Information (RTI) of all citizens to ensure quality education for all side by side establishing good governance and accountability.
'Gano Swakhkhorota Avijan' and 'Polli Shahittya Sangstha' jointly organised the meeting today at Zila Parishad Hall Room in Panchagarh district town with President of Panchagarh district unit of Mohila Sangstha Rezia Islam in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Shamsul Azam addressed the meeting as the chief guest while Head of the Department of Bengali of Panchagarh Government Women College Professor Mani Sankar Das Gupta attended as the special guest.
Executive Director of 'Polli Shahittya Sangstha' Harun Ar Rashid delivered welcome speech in the meeting also addressed by senior official of 'Gano Swakhkhorota Avijan' Abdul Kuddus.
Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Rafikul Islam delivered keynote presentation in the meeting as the resource person.
The resource person narrated the history of emergence of the RTI or similar Acts on the globe as well as in Bangladesh to ensure free flow of information for establishing good governance, accountability and transparency to reduce corruption at all levels.
Officials of different government and non-government departments and organisations, teachers of different educational institutions, media workers, public representatives, civil society members, professionals and local elite participated.
