Entrepreneur-banker joint programme held in Khulna

KHULNA, Sept 24: To make a bridge between productive and prospective entrepreneurs with the banking sector, to create direct connection with the bankers and entrepreneurs and to get easy loan an "SME entrepreneurs-bankers matchmaking programme was held here on Wednesday at the conference room Bangladesh Bank, Khulna. Executive Director (in-charge) of Bangladesh Bank, Khulna Prakash Chandra Bhadra was the chief guest at the programme.
The matchmaking programme was arranged by SME Foundation under the auspices of Bangladesh Bank, Khulna.   
The programme was presided over by DGM of Bangladesh Bank Khulna Md. Amjad Hossain Khan and addressed by S M Shahin Anwar, General Manager of SME Foundation as special guest on the occasion. It was also addressed among others DGM of the Foundation Nazim Hassan Sattar, GM of Sonali Bank Khulna region Habibur Rahman Khan, GM of Pubali Bank Ltd. Khulna region Humayun Kabir, EVP of Trust Bank, Khulna branch Abdul Motaleb Patwary.
The programme informed that SME loan of more than Tk. 728.49 million was disbursed among 1032 women entrepreneurs from different banks and financial institutions under Bangladesh Bank, Khulna by June 30, 2014. Of them Tk. 377.99 million has been disbursed among 301 entrepreneurs in Khulna City Corporation area.   
High officials of different bank who finance SME sector, SME entrepreneurs, representatives from different trade bodies and about 50 women entrepreneurs were present in the programme.
