EPI to protect char children from fatal diseases stressed

GAIBANDHA, Dec 22 (BSS): Speakers at a seminar here yesterday stressed the need for bringing all char children aged 0-5 years of the district under Expanded Programme for Immunization (EPI) to protect them from eight fatal diseases.
They emphasized increasing the counseling on the EPI programme in the char areas through involving the village leaders and mothers.
The speakers were addressing the follow-up seminar on community scorecard of EPI programme organized by Friendship at the auditorium of Zila Parishad of the town at noon under Access to a Better Life Project funded by Manusher Jonno.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kamal Uddin Biswas addressed the seminar as the chief guest and Civil Surgeon Dr Shahidul Haque and deputy director of department of family planning Dr Ferdous Hossain Manzu were present as the special guests.
With district coordinator of Friendship Abdul Halim in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by deputy director of department of youth development Abdul Mannan, Sadar upazila health and family planning officer Dr Shahadat Hossain and project in -charge Jewel Hasan.
