Equipping varsity libraries with modern amenities

Libraries play an important role in inculcating a culture of reading and knowledge, which is why most countries invest in libraries and make those accessible to citizens. However, it is unfortunate that many libraries in our public universities are in a dismal state. Most of them lack essential academic books. The existing books are also not kept in a good condition. Often, university students face unexpected restrictions about entry to the library. As a result, their academic work, assignments, research, job preparation, etc are hampered.
What is more worrying is that university students cannot borrow books from the libraries. To have a book, students have to go to the in-charge of the library. Since the staffs are not skilled enough, most of the time they take extra time to find the required books. This is why students' interest in reading books at the library is gradually decreasing. So, we urge the authorities concerned to look into the issue and equip university libraries with all modern amenities.
