Eradicating human trafficking permanently

Monday, 5 February 2018

HUMAN trafficking has assumed the status of a nagging problem across the world particularly over the last few years. If all local and international stakeholders do not recognise the severity of the situation, the world would be trapped in a deeper crisis during the coming years. Unless proper attention is given to the issue, human traffickers would continue to entice innocent people in greater numbers to go for employment abroad through risky migration. The human traffickers have strong international connections. The governments of Malaysia, Thailand and the Indonesia are also equally worried about the increasing volume of human trafficking. Due to lack of employment opportunities at home, many of our citizens fall easy preys to the human traffickers. We have a large population which is both our strength as well as our weakness.
