Ershad doubtful about budget implementation

Voicing his doubt over the implementation of the next annual budget, Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad has termed it mere a dream-driven one. ‘We didn’t welcome the budget… we rather expressed our doubt over its implementation. Our doubt will be removed only when the budget is implemented,’ he said in the city in a formal reaction to the proposed national budget for the fiscal year 2014-2015. Finance Minister AMA Muhith placed the Tk 2.5-trillion-budget in parliament on Thursday. However, senior Jatiya Party presidium member and leader of the opposition in parliament Raushon Ershad was not present at the press conference. Ershad, also a special envoy to the Prime Minister, urged the government to thoroughly review the new budget. Mentioning that no budget in the past could achieve the desired target, he said this budget will also fail to reach the gaol as its basis is shaken, according to a news agency.
