Essar Energy starts trading on LSE

NEW DELHI, May 9 (Economic Times): Essar group's London-listed arm Essar Energy has formally started trading on the London Stock Exchange following its $1.9 billion public offering. "Despite turbulent global markets, we have made the largest debut on the London market since 2007," Essar Energy chairman Ravi Ruia said in a statement.
Speaking on the occasion London Stock Exchange (LSE) group chief executive officer Xavier Rolet said; "I am pleased that there is a strong pipeline of prospective Indian issuers..."
"The capital markets and sectoral expertise available in London are a perfect match for ambitious Indian companies looking to expand globally," a statement of LSE said quoting Mr Rolet.
