ETV to telecast DSE trading live from Jan 1

ETV, a private television channel, will telecast live the trading of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) from the very beginning of the next year.
To this effect, the private channel Thursday inked a deal with the DSE, first of its kind in the DSE history. ETV will show the price movement of the traded issues live through putting the figures on the screen.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DSE Salahuddin Ahmed Khan and Managing Director of ETV Abdus Salam signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Securities and Exchange Chairman (SEC) Faruq Ahmad Siddiqi was present as the chief guest at the function.
Also present at the signing ceremony were Chairman of Square Group and also a nominated director of DSE Samson H Chowdhury, DSE Senior Vice-President Ahmad Rashid Lali, Vice President Sharif Ataur Rahman, SEC Member Mohammad Ali Khan and head of ETV news Shah Alamgir.
Speaking on the occasion, Faruq Ahmad Siddiqi appreciated the initiative saying it will bring transparency and qualitative change in disseminating information about the price movement of the securities among the investors.
"The investors flock to the market for injecting their funds, when the market remains bullish particularly on the basis of rumour, sending the market to an unusual situation that affects the small investors," he said.
