EU eager to raise aid for dev of CHT

European Union (EU) Ambassador in Bangladesh William Hanna Thursday called on Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury at the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat in the city to discuss increase in EU assistance in health and education sectors, reports BSS.
During the meeting, Hanna informed Sajeda Chowdhury about his recent visit to Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) and conveyed his opinion on implementation of the CHT Peace Accord and overall development of the areas.
Both the Deputy Leader of the House and the EU Ambassador cleared their stand on implementation of the peace accord. Sajeda Chowdhury highlighted the historical picture of the CHT to Hanna.
Hanna expressed his eagerness to increase their assistance for development of the CHT, especially for the development of health and education.
Sajeda Chowdhury thanked Hanna for their continuous assistance in different sectors.
She expressed the hope that the relations between Bangladesh and the EU would be strengthened further in the coming days.
