EU inspection team arrives

A two-member inspection team of the European Union (EU) arrived in Dhaka Tuesday to visit the country's existing fish processing plants and examine the quality control measures. The EU delegation came from food and veterinary office in Brussels for a nine-day visit in the country. The team will meet with the high officials of the ministry of livestock and fisheries, and department of fisheries today (Wednesday). They will visit fish processing laboratories in Dhaka, Khulna and Chittagong. After the inspection, the team will submit report at the EC headquarters about the prevailing status and food safety
standard of Bangladesh's fish processing plants. — FE Report
