EU team visits Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, June 20 (BSS): A team of the European Union (EU) visited the zonal election office here Thursday evening.
They held meeting with Deputy Election Commissioner Mohammad Ekram at his office and discussed matters relating to preparation of the voter list with photographs and national identity cards in the region.
The deputy election commissioner informed the delegation that the registration of voters in the greater Mymensingh district has been completed on June 19.
During the visit Capt Shakeel of the local army camp briefed the EU team about the process of voter registration, data collections and other related activities in this regard.
Deputy Commissioner Md Shamsul Alam and district election officer Md Rashedul Islam were present during the meeting.
Later, the EU delegation visited the server room at the Teachers' Training College. They went round different sections of the server room where they were briefed by the concerned army officials.
The team also held meeting with the deputy commissioner at his office in the evening. The deputy commissioner informed the EU delegation that the voter registration in the district has already completed and distribution of national identity cards has so far been completed in four upazilas of the district.
