EU to enhance support for implementing Children act

European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Pierre Mayaudon said Saturday European Union (EU) will extend its cooperation for implementation of Children Act-2013 in Bangladesh, reports BSS.
"We are welcoming the Children Act-2013 as it has been formulated in line with child rights charter," he told a seminar on "Sensitization of Children Act-2013" in the city.
Directorate of Social Service in cooperation with the project titled "Child Protection and Rehabilitation of Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation in Bangladesh" organised the seminar.
Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali, State Minister for Social Welfare Ministry Promod Mankin, Social Welfare Secretary Nasima Begum and Acting Country Director of Save the Children Bangladesh Sharon Hauser, among others, addressed the seminar with Director General of Directorate of Social Service Mohammad Saidur Rahman in the chair.
Mohsin Ali said fundamental rights should be ensured for children to make them competent citizen of the country.
