European shares seen higher

European shares headed for a stronger open on Thursday. Financial spreadbetters predicted Britain's FTSE 100 to open 11 to 13 points higher, or as much as 0.19 per cent, Germany's DAX to gain 17 to 21 points, or as much as 0.21 per cent, and France's CAC 40 to rise 6 to 7 points, or as much as 0.16 per cent. The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index ended 0.5 per cent higher at 1,399.97 points in the previous session. In the United States, the Dow and S&P 500 closed at record highs. Japanese stocks jumped to a near 7-1/2-year high on Thursday, according to Reuters.
