European Shares seen slipping lower at open
Monday, 21 September 2015
European stocks were seen opening lower on Monday, impacted by weakness overnight on Asian and US equity markets due to persistent worries about global economic growth. Financial spreadbetters expected Britain's FTSE 100 to open down by 22 points, or 0.4 per cent lower. Germany's DAX was seen opening down by 46-47 points, or 0.5 per cent lower, while France's CAC 40 was expected to fall by 10-13 points, or 0.2-0.3 per cent lower. Asian shares tumbled on Monday after the US Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates at record lows raised fresh concerns about growth globally, particularly in China. Athens' main ATG equity index is down by around 20 per cent since the start of 2015, hit by Greece's debt and economic problems, according to Reuters.
