European stock markets firm at open

Europe's main stock markets edged higher at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index adding a marginal 0.02 per cent to stand at 6,757.03 points. Frankfurt's DAX 30 rose 0.15 per cent to 9,328.71 and the CAC 40 index in Paris also gained 0.15 per cent to 4,247.32 points compared with Wednesday's closing level, according to AFP.
