European stocks climb at open

Europe's main stock markets have risen at the start of trading, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.33 per cent at 6,847.51 points. Frankfurt's DAX 30 on Tuesday gained 0.49 per cent to 9,525.15 points and the CAC 40 index in Paris added 0.22 per cent to 4,389.40 compared with Monday's close.
