European stocks drop as risk appetite wanes

LONDON, June 25 (AFP): European stock markets slid on Wednesday, with traders pointing to a reduction in risk amid the unrest in Iraq.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index was down 0.61 per cent to 6,745.63 points around midday in the British capital.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.36 per cent to 9,902.34 points and the CAC 40 in Paris dropped 0.64 per cent to 4,489.46 compared with Tuesday's closing levels.
