European stocks erase gains

LONDON, Nov 19 (Bloomberg): European stocks erased earlier gains. BHP Billiton Ltd. and Anglo American Plc, the world's biggest mining companies, followed a slump in commodity prices.
The Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index fell 0.1 per cent to 362.2 as of 9:40 a.m. in London, after rising as much as 0.6 per cent. The Euro Stoxx 50, a measure for the euro region, added 0.1 per cent, while the Stoxx 50 fell 0.2 per cent.
BHP Billiton, the world's largest mining company, fell 1.7 per cent to 1,575 pence. Anglo American, the second-biggest, declined 1.5 per cent to 3,039 pence.
Copper, lead, nickel and zinc fell on the London Metal Exchange.
