LONDON, June 9 (AFP): Europe's leading stock markets recovered slightly Tuesday after sliding into the red a day earlier and following a flat finish on Wall Street overnight.
In late morning trade, London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares was up 0.32 per cent to 4,419.53 points.
Nearing the half-way mark in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.30 per cent to 3,299.38 points and in Frankfurt the DAX 30 won 0.03 per cent in value to reach 5,006.68.
The DJ Euro Stoxx 50 index of leading eurozone shares advanced 0.48 per cent to 2,480.14 points.
Europe's main stock markets slid in cautious trading Monday, dealers said, with London dragged down by the banking sector and worries over British Prime Minister Gordon Brown battle to stay in power.
