Naimul Kader | Thursday, 22 September 2016

It has been said that many of the upcoming global jobs did not exist before this decade. Global job market is juxtaposed with the rapid innovation in technology. So how can one plan for a career that may not exist in that form yet? The answer is that one must develop oneself and one's career skills. Founded in August 2014, and starting its operations in September 2014, Fly High Career Guidelines offers professional development skills training and consultancy. A significant portion of professional development skills are demanded by the students who are about to be graduates or are fresh graduates or are actively looking for internship opportunities. Sometimes this sort of skills are also needed by the young entrepreneurs who are running their own startup business or intrapreneurs who are about to launch their own venture. The professionals also expect to learn these skills so that they can climb the corporate ladder by enhancing their efficiency and productivity.
Hence, in order to help the students, young entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and professionals of the society, Fly High Career Guidelines launched its signature event "Inspiration to Fly High Season 3" on 10th of September 2016 at NewsCred Office, Gulshan, Dhaka following the Season 1 and 2. The main theme of Inspiration to Fly High is to promote the concept of "Head Start Your Journey Today." That means with the help of this event series the company tries to build confidence among the participants and acquaint them with all the necessary skills and expertise that they are in dire need in order to foster in their professional and academic endeavours.
Among the audience were students from IBA, NSU, BUP, BRAC, EWU, DU and other universities, some professionals and young entrepreneurs.
Five session speakers conducted the entire event and spoke on various topics. Bijon Islam, Co-founder and CEO at LightCastle Partners Limited, talked about how one should enhance adaptability skills and keep oneself updated with surroundings and keep ears open for availing   opportunities. As a young entrepreneur one should not think of profit first rather what impact their business is creating for the target market. Minhaz Anwar, Chief Storyteller at BetterStories, highlighted how it helps in every regard by being optimistic at all times. He said that it is very important to work in team in order to make progress and that first few years are very challenging for anyone. Nazmul Ahmed, Founder and CEO at Ennovision talked about the mantras of how to land to your dream startup and how your passion will lead to you to the next level. He created an interactive session with the audience and asked them one important question: “what lie are you telling yourself today?” Shahana Sharmin, Country Manager, One97 Communications Bangladesh Pvt Ltd (Paytm), spoke about how  students should choose their path and build identity. This writer spoke from his recent experiences while looking for an internship at an MNC and how the participants should go about it while building their presence on professional networking platforms.
At Season 3 the prime focus was on job seeking candidates and young entrepreneurs. The organiser observed that many students are struggling to secure an internship/job in their desired company. Some of the young entrepreneurs are facing difficulties to carry out and execute their plans into action and run their startups. Bearing these problems in mind, at Season 3, the session speakers highlighted mainly on two aspects:
1. How to build your dream venture/start-up and
2. How should the job seeking candidates or internship seeking candidates develop their experiences into a story in order to stand out from the crowd.
The event received deserving positive response from both the speakers and participants. Fly High Career Guidelines is optimistic to carry this forward and come up every time with "something" new and better.
