Ever-growing power demand

It is good to know that many foreign entrepreneurs are keen to invest in the energy sector in Bangladesh. Gradually our economy is emerging and soon it will be bigger and for that we need to increase our capacity to generate power. Without adequate power generation we cannot think of further growth of our economy.  Many foreign and local investors are unsure about investing in Bangladesh and power shortage is one of the reasons for their indignation.   Power generation through quick rental is not a long term solution. Moreover, it is an expensive method which costs our economy a lot. We need to make pragmatic plans so that we have enough power which will meet up our growing demand even in the future. Our energy sector is poorly managed. Corruption, high system loss, delay in completion of new projects and low plant efficiencies are the few reasons which hinder this sector.  We know the government is planning in a big way to solve energy problem and I hope it will do all it can so that we can come out of this perennial shortage.
