Ex-BASIC Bank chairman Bachchu skips ACC quizzing again

FE Report | Wednesday, 16 May 2018

Former chairman of BASIC Bank Sheikh Abdul Hye Bachchu again skipped interrogation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over loan scam of the bank on Tuesday.
He sent a letter to the commission seeking two months' time showing 'illness' a cause for not participating in the interrogation and ACC granted him two weeks to appear before its headquarters instead, according to ACC's public relations department.
ACC has set May 30 as the new date to interrogate Bachchu and if he misses the date, legal action will be taken against him.
Previously, Bachchu skipped ACC interrogation on May 7.
ACC sent a letter signed by its deputy director Shahmsul Alam to the former BASIC Bank boss, who was also a former Jatiya Party MP, to appear before the commission on May 30.
