Ex-DCC councilor Shaheed held

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested former Councilor of Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Saidur Rahman Shaheed, alias Shaheed Commissioner, from his residence in Gandaria in the city on Tuesday morning. The elite force also recovered four firearms along with 62 rounds of bullet from his possession. Contacted, an officer of RAB-10 said the law enforcers raided the house of Shaheed Commissioner at about 3:00 am and arrested him along with the firearms and bullets. Replying to a question, the officer preferring not to be named, said among the recovered firearms, only one had license. "We are interrogating him about source of the illegal firearms," he added. He did not elaborate saying that details will be disclosed later, according to UNB.
