Ex-DMP chief Faruq turned away at airport

Airport officials have reportedly stopped Khandker Golam Faruq, the former commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), from flying out to Thailand, reports bdnews24.com.
Immigration officials at Shahjalal International Airport turned him away at around 02:30am on Sunday.
"Faruq arrived at immigration to travel abroad, but his immigration process was not completed. He was detained and then sent back," said an immigration officer, who asked to remain anonymous.
According to an airport source, Faruq arrived at the airport on Saturday night to board a Thai Airways flight to Bangkok but was unable to immigration.
Faruq began his career in the Bangladesh Police in 1991 as an assistant superintendent from the 12th BCS (Police) cadre.
