Ex-home minister's son Jyoti on three-day remand

A court in Dhaka on Sunday placed Safi Muddaser Khan Jyoti, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, on a three-day remand in a case filed over the killing of garment worker Ashraful Islam in Ashulia area, reports BSS.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum passed the order as police produced Jyoti before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day remand in the case.
Jyoti was arrested from the city's Uttara area on September 14 and was placed on four-day remand in an attempt to murder case filed with the Ashulia Police Station.
On September 11, a university student Md Rabius Sunny filed the case with Ashulia Thana alleging Jyoti along with other accused for attempting to kill him.
