Ex-IGP, ex-KMP commissioner sued in Khulna

KHULNA, Nov 15 (BSS): A Dhaka court has filed a case against 19
Police officers including ex-Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury
Abdullah Al Mamun and ex-Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner (KMP)
Mozammel Haque.
Al Amin, judge of the Khalishpur Contingency Metropolitan Magistrate Court,
ordered the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khalishpur Police Station toinvestigate the FIR after recording it within the next 24 hours.
The Judge also asked to place the investigation report before the court very soon.
Anisa Siddika, wife of ex-deputy director of Khulna divisional Islamic
Foundation, filed the case before the court as plaintiff, Advocate Alamgir Shikder, lawyer of the plaintiff, confirmed.
According to the case statement, IGP Mamun and KMP Commissioner Mozammel
directs a team of the police led by the then Assistant Commissioner Kanjilal
Gopinath and OC of Khalishpur Police Station Munir-ul-Gias illegally entered Anisa's father residence at Hazi Foyez Uddin Road of Khalishpur area on
August 20, 2023 following a status of Tanzilur Rahman, Anisa's son and a
researcher of Michigan State University of America.
