Ex-IGP Hasan Mahmud new envoy to Spain

The government has appointed ex-inspector general of police Hasan Mahmud Khandaker as the next Bangladesh Ambassador to Spain.
A gazette notification in this regard was issued by the Public Administration Ministry on Monday, UNB reported.
It says the former police chief, now on Post Retirement Leave (PRL), has been made an ambassador for next three years from his joining date.
Hasan Mahmud took over the charge of IGP on August 31, 2010 and his four-and-half-year tenure ended on December 31, 2014.
Besides, the government made former additional secretary Khondokar Akhtaruzzaman, also now on PRL, chairman of the National Housing Authority (NHA).
Another gazette notification issued by the Public Administration Ministry said the appointment was given for one year.
