Ex-JCD leader shot dead in Khulna

A former leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has been gunned down in broad daylight in Khulna city, reports bdnews24.com.
Md Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station, said the killing took place in front of KDA Kalpataru Market around 11:30 am on Monday.
The victim, Rashidul Anam Rashu (30), was the former organising secretary of Daulatpur Thana unit of JCD.
Witnesses said the incident took place near an oil factory and 10 shops -- all owned by Rashu -- in the area.
"Rashu was near his construction material business in front of the market when criminals fired three shots at him. One of them hit him in the back of the head," said Shafiqul. He was declared dead after being rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
