Ex-Judge’s graft: ACC grills 2 bench clerks

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday interrogated two bench clerks (peshkars) in connection with the alleged accumulation of illegal wealth by former judge Motahar Hossain. ACC deputy director Harunur Rashid started quizzing peshkars Abul Kalam Azad of Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 and Ariful Islam of Special Judge Court-3 at 10 am and continued it till 2 pm at the ACC head office, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. He said the two bench clerks were questioned in connection with the graft allegation as both worked under ex-judge Motahar. On Tuesday, the ACC interrogated deputy general manager (DGM) of Bashundhara Group Pabitra Sarkar for three hours in connection with the graft allegation. On Monday, the ACC questioned Motahar’s gunman Badal Dewan and driver Sohrab Hossain while stenographers M Abul Hasan of Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 and M Nurul Islam of Special Judge Court-3 on January 23 over the allegation.
