Ex-Lakshmipur Jubo League leader chopped to death

A former Jubo League leader was chopped to death by unknown assailants at Naldubi village in Lakshmipur Sadar upazila early Thursday. The dead is Mohammad Ullah, 45, incumbent member of Kuchakhali union parishad (UP) and also former general secretary of the union unit of Jubo League. Locals spotted the hacked body of Mohammad Ullah, son of late Nurul Islam of the village, near a pond and informed police in the morning. Police recovered the body and sent it to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Iqbal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, confirmed the body recovery. Unidentified miscreants might have killed Mohammad Ullah at some time after Wednesday midnight and dumped the body there, he added. The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately, according to UNB.
