Sunday, 24 August 2014

A Dhaka court has granted bail to former state minister for housing and public works Abdul Mannan Khan in a case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC). The Awami League leader turned himself in at the court on Sunday and sought bail. The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Imdadul Haque set October 13 for the next day of the hearing and granted bail until then. On August 21, the ACC filed cases against Mannan Khan and two other ruling party MPs for possession of assets far in excess to their known sources of income. The cases were filed in the Ramna Police Station. Khan stands accused of concealing Tk 7.56 million while filing his statement with the ACC, according to bdnews24.com.
