Ex-minister Qamrul files petition for advanced medical care

Former food minister and banned Awami League (AL) leader Qamrul Islam has filed a petition with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) seeking a directive for advanced medical treatment, reports bdnews24.com.
The application was submitted on Tuesday, confirmed Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam.
The tribunal is expected to hear the matter today (Wednesday).
Qamrul, a former lawmaker from the Dhaka-2 constituency, was arrested in the capital's Uttara on November 18, 2024.
He faces multiple charges related to attacks on the students' movement against discrimination during the July Uprising that toppled the AL government on August 5.
