Sunday, 21 September 2008

KHULNA, Sept 20 (UNB): Two leaders of the city BNP, one a former MP, have been expelled in line with the loyalist-reformist rift in the party.
The expelled BNP leaders are ex-MP and former president of the city BNP M Nurul Islam Dadu Bhai and former general secretary Nazrul Islam.
In a press release, signed by member-secretary of city BNP Saharuzzaman Mortuza, it was stated that the two BNP leaders were expelled as they were identified as loyal to the 'reformist' group of BNP and they kept contact with recently expelled BNP leader Mannan Bhuiyan and Ashraf Hossain.
The duo also made 'indecent' statements against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her family after the 1/11 changeover, the release further cited as another ground for the expulsions.
