Ex-MP Mukti, AL leader Mozammel on 6-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed former lawmaker from Narail-1constituency Kabirul Haque Mukti and Awami League (AL) central committee member Md Mozammel Haque on a six-day remand in connection with a case lodged under the Anti-Terrorism Act, reports BSS.
Police produced them before the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) with a 10-day remand prayers on Thursday. The lawyers of the arrestees moved bail petitions before the court and opposed the remand prayers.
Metropolitan Magistrate Juwel Rana, on behalf of the CMM, granted a six-day remand each, rejecting the bail petitions after hearing both the sides.
Mukti, also a vice president of Narail Zila Awami League, and Mozammel Haque were arrested from capital's Niketon area at about 9:00 pm on Wednesday in connection with a case filed with Gulshan Police Station.
