Ex-MPs yet to vacate govt. flats
Wednesday, 26 February 2014
Former members of parliament (MPs) are yet to vacate the government houses allotted to them. MPs from all parties are in this list and it is indeed shameful. We cannot expect such behaviour from our representatives. It only exposes their low mindset.
The honourable parliament members knew that their tenure was going to end. They didn't take steps earlier to vacate the flats. If the lawmakers themselves break the law, it badly affects common people. The people's representatives should be very careful about their conduct and action.
Many of the former MPs have said that they have applied for an extension of their stay for some more days and they have already sent applications to the honourable speaker for a decision. We hope in future we will not see the public representatives flouting rules and twisting it to their own petty interests.
