Ex-principal secy Azad on seven-day remand in murder case

A Dhaka court Sunday placed Abul Kalam Azad, former principal secretary of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, on a seven-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of Jubo Dal leader Shamim in the capital, reports BSS.
Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Jiadur Rahman passed the order as police produced Azad, also a former lawmaker from Jamalpur-5, before the court and pleaded to place him 10-day remand in the case lodged with the capital's Paltan Police Station.
